This is a great movie with Eric Christmas, Steve Buscemi, Harper Roisman, Sam Jenkins, Ned Beatty

Basically it’s about:
Albert Brooks’ Mother meets Raimi’s Evil Dead II. When Ed’s mother dies and “Happy People, Ltd.” contact him and claim to resurrect the dearly departed for only $1000, Ed doesn’t have to think long before agreeing. Ed is overjoyed at his mother’s return until he starts noticing her doing things that ordinary senior citizens just don’t do! Soon Ed’s life is turned upside down in this hilarious dark comedy.

While I’ve watched Ed and His Dead Mother a lot, it seems to never get old. I guess it’s one of my favorites. If you haven’t seen it, or just haven’t watched it in a while – why not watch it now? Basically it’s about:
Three runaway girls hijack a car and begin the adventure of a lifetime Life in a Detroit suburb is closing in on Zoe and her two friends, Sarah and Ally. They decide to skip class, skip town and head west following Zoe’s obsession over her Native American heritage. The girls cross paths with the English woman Cecilia who’s totally out of place on a mission to fulfill her mothers last requst: to have her ashes scattered in a mysterious location in New Mexico. Zoe realizes that destiny has brought them together and the two embark upon a spiritual journey. Zoe comes quickly of age after getting lost in a daring, solo walk through the blazing desert.

Shawn’s Cousin Mark, a local street thug, warns him to leave “those kinds of girls” alone because their families will never permit it to flourish. Forbidden Fruits is a modern day Romeo and Juliet story in which Shawn refuses to abandon his love and instead chooses to hide his romance from those closest to him.

If you haven’t heard of The Killing Fields, here’s a quick plot:
This harrowing but rewarding 1984 drama concerns the real-life relationship between New York Times reporter Sidney Schanberg and his Cambodian assistant Dith Pran (Haing S. Ngor), the latter left at the mercy of the Khmer Rouge after Schanberg–who chose to stay after American evacuation but was booted out–failed to get him safe passage. Filmmaker Roland Joffe, previously a documentarist, made his feature debut with this account of Dith’s rocky survival in the ensuing madness of the Khmer Rouge’s genocidal campaign. The script spends some time with Schanberg’s feelings of guilt after the fact, but most of the movie is a shattering re-creation of hell on Earth. The late Haing S. Ngor–a real-life doctor who had never acted before and who lived through the events depicted by Joffe–is outstanding, and he won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Oscars also went to cinematographer Chris Menges and editor Jim Clark. –Tom Keogh
